As usual, when things
change, there a lot of questions. On this page we will answer questions
that have been frequently asked.
Question:
Because of all the flooding, will the River Raisin Festival 2008 actually
take place?
Answer: Absolutely! The only
difference will be a change in location.
Question:
Why was the location changed?
Answer: Because of extensive flooding
in the park, and partly because of the dangerous condition of the footbridge
(could have been worked around) the committee decided to request
permission to use the Blissfield Schools campus as an alternate site.
Question: Will
there be any changes in the published schedule of events?
Answer: All events, with
one exception, (the tractor pulls had to be
cancelled) will go on as
scheduled.
Question:
Will the fireworks at dusk on Friday night be visible from the school
campus?
Answer: Yes,
regardless of where the fireworks are sent up, they will be visible from
the school campus.
Question:
Are there any changes in the parade this year?
Answer:
While the parade will start at approximately 10:30 AM as scheduled, the
route will be reverse of previous years. It will start from the
corner of Sugar and Depot Streets, proceed north to US-223. There it
will make a left turn and proceed to Lane Street where it will turn left
(south) and proceed down South Lane Street, passing Walnut and finish at
Sugar Street. Please note... the parade will NOT go down Walnut
Street this year. (click

Question:
What about the Miss River Raisin Festival Scholarship Pageant?
Answer: The
Miss River Raisin Festival Scholarship Pageant will go on as scheduled and
be located in the new Pavilion Stage tent at the school. Miss
Michigan will be there to crown the new Miss River Raisin Festival.
Question:
What about the other stages, Dockside, Tugboat & Ball Field?
Answer: They
will also be located on the school campus, will all other venues. (Click

Question:
Where can we park?
Answer: On the school campus, behind
the new tennis courts there will be some parking. Look back here for
more parking suggestions as arrangements are made.
